Highlights
Pokemon fans are constantly imagining new evolutions for Eevee, a popular and versatile Pokemon that can change its type.
Recently, a gifted artist unveiled their creation of Phareon, a Rock-type Eeveelution infused with inspiration from Egyptian history and mythology. Despite the dearth of new Eeveelutions in recent times, fans' passion for crafting their own evolutionary forms remains undiminished.
A talented Pokemon fan artist is sharing their design for a Rock-type Eeveelution. Eevee is a unique Pokemon in the franchise as it changes its type depending on its evolution. The Pokemon franchise has already introduced Dark, Electric, Fairy, Fire, Grass, Ice, Psychic, and Electric-type Eeveelutions. However, creative artists often enjoy envisioning what Eevee would look like if it evolved into one of the remaining 10 types.
Eeveelutions, the term used to describe Eevee's different evolutions, are consistently ranked among the most popular Pokemon. Several Eeveelutions even made it into the top 10 most-searched Pokemon last year. Despite not receiving a new evolution since the sixth-generation games Pokemon X and Y, fans' excitement and desire to imagine new versions of the beloved Pokemon hasn't diminished.
Reddit user harmonia_region recently shared their latest creation in their ongoing fan art series on the community platform. This time, they presented Phareon, a Rock-type Pokemon, drawing inspiration from Egyptian history and mythology. Phareon's design incorporates elements from the Great Sphinx and features pharaoh headdresses, known as nemes.
Similar to the artist's previously showcased Dracula-inspired Eeveelution, Phareon successfully operates on multiple levels. Notably, its name cleverly plays on the word "pharaoh," while also following the established naming patterns of the other Eeveelutions. Additionally, the choice of Rock as Phareon's type perfectly aligns with the Great Sphinx's stone composition.
It has been ten years since the last Eeveelution was introduced, creating a hiatus in the evolution of Eevee. In previous generations, Eevee would receive new evolutions sporadically. Although there is no established pattern, fans of the game still speculate about the possibilities of the next Eeveelution. The Pokemon Company has not yet designed evolutions for Eevee of Bug, Dragon, Fighting, Flying, Ghost, Ground, Poison, Rock, Steel, or even Normal types. As one of the most beloved Pokemon in the franchise, Eevee and its evolutions inspire fans to come up with their own unique versions of Eeveelutions. Even the concept artist behind Detective Pikachu has created various new Eeveelutions. Due to the recognizable appearance of official Eevee evolutions, these fan designs are enjoyable for both artists and observers. Pokemon fan artists have the opportunity to showcase their creativity, while admirers can get a glimpse into the imaginative process.
