Survival Ascended, the remake of Ark: Survival Evolved, is now available on Steam Early Access. However, the console edition for PlayStation and Xbox has been postponed to November. Studio Wildcard, the developer, has released a blog post stating that they encountered some "critical issues" concerning the game's multiplayer. Due to the potential impact of these issues, the decision was made to delay the console release of Survival Ascended to November. The studio did not reveal any specific details about these issues.
"We understand that this news is disappointing, and we want you to know that we share in that disappointment. Our team worked hard to ensure that everything would be ready for all platforms in October, but unfortunately, we fell short at the very last moment," stated Studio Wildcard. "We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, especially for those of you who have been eagerly anticipating this launch and have made plans around it."
However, if there's a positive aspect to this situation, it could be that the console edition of Ark: Survival Ascended will now align more closely with the PC edition. "The additional time will allow us to address specific multiplayer issues and align the game with the PC version, which has received numerous critical improvements while the console versions were undergoing certification," explained Studio Wildcard.
When Ark: Survival Ascended finally launches on consoles, console players will have the advantage of "bonus rates" for a limited time. This will help them to quickly catch up and enjoy the game, as the studio aims to provide a smoother console launch by addressing initial challenges through the PC version. Additionally, console players can expect a more enhanced modding experience with a wealth of content and increased stability, thanks to extensive testing on the PC platform.
Studio Wildcard acknowledges that the news may not be perfect, but they assure us that they will put in their utmost effort to ensure that the game reaches its highest potential upon its release in November. Ark: Survival Ascended is a complete overhaul of the original Ark, encompassing enhanced visuals and numerous updated elements utilizing the Unreal Engine 5.
Studio Wildcard is also developing Ark 2, featuring Vin Diesel, for release in 2024.
