Summary

Arcane season 2 has the opportunity to incorporate key elements of the League of Legends universe, pleasing long-time fans and expanding the world-building of the show.

In season 2, fans can expect to witness Caitlyn proudly wearing her iconic top hat, a tribute to her father that brings a playful touch to the show's overall tone. The addition of fresh faces like Zac and Renata Glasc, as well as Vander's transformation into Warwick, promises to bring a heightened level of complexity and thrill to Arcane's upcoming season.

Arcane's second season is gearing up to be even more explosive and successful than the first, hoping to draw on important moments from the extensive lore of Runeterra. Stemming from the immensely popular multiplayer game, League of Legends, Arcane swiftly established itself as one of the greatest video game adaptations to date. Set in the steampunk cities of Zaun and Piltover, the series follows the journey of Vi and her younger sister, Powder, who eventually transforms into the unhinged criminal, Jinx.

With a vast array of world-building and an ensemble cast of characters to draw from in the game's extended lore, Arcane has endless possibilities to thrill long-time fans of the universe. Surprisingly, the first season's focused narrative and profound storytelling managed to also captivate new viewers, indicating that a story rooted in the League of Legends world can be universally appealing. With the confirmation that Arcane's second season will further explore the world of Zaun and Piltover, it would be wise for Netflix to incorporate key elements from the League of Legends universe into the series' world.

10. Caitlyn Wearing Her Top Hat

Arcane Season 2: Our Top 10 Wishlist for the Next Installment

Since making her debut in League of Legends, Caitlin, the skilled investigator and sharpshooter from Piltover, has undergone several design changes. In addition to keeping up with the current trends, Caitlyn's design in Arcane has motivated Riot Games to update her visual appearance in League of Legends, allowing her to stand out as an intelligent and capable woman among the more traditional femme fatales. However, her most recognizable accessory has yet to be featured in Arcane.

Caitlyn's top hat, which defines her silhouette, may seem out of place given Arcane's tone. Although she does not wear it in the first season, it does appear in multiple portraits displayed in her family home, suggesting that her father used to wear it. It is possible that the likely death of her mother in the season 1 finale of Arcane will strengthen Caitlyn's dedication to her family, prompting her to finally don her iconic headgear as a tribute to her father.

9. Heimerdinger Using His Turrets

Arcane Season 2: Our Top 10 Wishlist for the Next Installment

The conclusion of Arcane season 1 left fans hanging in suspense. Just as the esteemed Piltover council decided to liberate the impoverished undercity of Zaun, Jinx unleashed a fatal rocket in the council chambers, resulting in the fatalities of most influential members of Piltover's leadership. This shocking act is likely to spark a civil war between the two cities, reminiscent of the previous uprising that claimed the lives of Vi and Jinx's parents during their youth.

Heimerdinger, having been dismissed from the council, managed to evade the attack, making him the highest-ranking survivor among Piltover's leadership at the end of season 1. With the devastation caused by the assault, it is probable that he will now be inclined to engage in warfare, leading to an increased willingness to utilize his creations as weapons. Consequently, fans may finally witness the deployment of Heimerdinger's legendary turrets, missiles, and bombs from League of Legends.

8. The Creation Of Zac

Arcane Season 2: Our Top 10 Wishlist for the Next Installment

With the imminent danger of civil war and the demise of key characters, Arcane's second season promises to be even more dramatic than its predecessor. However, this doesn't mean that the show has forsaken its humor. On the contrary, introducing a new comedic character could provide the perfect balance. Enter Zac, a comical hero originating from the expanded lore of Runeterra's Zaun. He may be just what Arcane season 2 needs.

Despite his monstrous and gooey appearance, Zac is a compassionate vigilante dedicated to safeguarding the innocent citizens of Zaun. In his original backstory, Zac was a bioengineered weapon of war, emancipating himself from his creators. Zac, an acronym for "Zaun Amorphous Combatant," could be brought to life in Arcane's distinctive art style. As season 2 intensifies with the threat of war, an arms race may ensue, ultimately leading to Zac's creation. Witnessing his gelatinous form animated in Arcane would undoubtedly be a visual delight.

7. Vander's Transformation Into Warwick

Arcane Season 2: Our Top 10 Wishlist for the Next Installment

The Zaun faction in both League of Legends and Legends of Runeterra boasts a diverse array of characters beyond just comedic relief. Fans are eagerly awaiting the inclusion of these characters in season 2, and the top contender for a spotlight is Warwick, also known as The Uncaged Wrath of Zaun. What makes his potential appearance particularly intriguing is the teaser in the season 1 finale, which shows Vander, Vi and Jinx's adoptive father, being turned into a monstrous beast.

Warwick, created by Singed, is a werewolf-like mutant who instills fear in Zaun's criminal underworld. While Riot Games has never explicitly confirmed Warwick's true identity, there are strong implications that Vander is destined to become him. A quick glimpse reveals the remnants of Vander, ravaged and suspended in Singed's laboratory, with his hand taking on a claw-like form. Additionally, Vander's original title as "The Hound of the Underground" may be a blatant hint at his transformation into this savage being.

6. Ekko Inventing The Z-Drive

Ekko has gained a significant following, with fans loving both his appearances in Arcane and the original games. Starting off as a determined orphan navigating the dangerous streets of Zaun, Ekko eventually becomes a skilled fighter and talented inventor. Although we witness his growth from a skinny street kid to the fearless leader of the Firelights through time jumps, Ekko has yet to showcase his signature temporal abilities in the Netflix series.

In the game League of Legends, Ekko proves to be more than just a tenacious street rebel, utilizing his impressive engineering skills to enhance his combat abilities. His most notable creation is the Z-Drive, a portable device enabling him to travel back in time for a few crucial seconds. With his collaboration with Heimerdinger towards the end of season 1 and the impending civil war necessitating innovation, season 2 may finally provide Ekko with the opportunity to shine, showcasing his most recognizable invention.

5. Viktor Becomes The Machine Herald

Arcane Season 2: Our Top 10 Wishlist for the Next Installment

Arcane's roster surprised many fans of the Runeterra world with the inclusion of Victor. By the time games like League of Legends occur, Victor has transformed into a predominantly mechanical being, driven by a desire to lead a machine revolution that eradicates organic life. However, to the audience's astonishment, Arcane presents a younger and more hopeful version of Viktor.

At the beginning of the show, Viktor is Jayce's trusted friend and co-inventor, actively contributing to the development of groundbreaking Hextech technology that forever alters Piltover. Throughout the first season, Viktor's obsession with technology intensifies, causing him to prioritize it over personal relationships and willingly put himself in danger in his pursuit to find a cure for his physical ailments. By the end of the season, Viktor merges himself with Hextech, transcending his previous form. The chaos caused by Jinx's actions in Piltover will serve as the ideal catalyst to solidify Viktor's transformation and philosophy.

4. The Introduction Of Renata Glasc

Arcane Season 2: Our Top 10 Wishlist for the Next Installment

The destruction of Piltover's council was the main focus of season 1's cliffhanger, but it cannot be denied that Zaun is also experiencing a power vacuum. Following Silco's death, numerous prominent crime lords in Zaun have been eradicated, leaving the chemically-powered megacity vulnerable to a seizure of power. Renata Glasc emerges as an ideal antagonist to step into this role and lead Zaun in the upcoming war.

Renata possesses a merciless business acumen and was born as the heiress to a chemical company. Her parents were assassinated by Piltover interests due to concerns regarding their influence, providing her with the perfect motivation to reveal herself amidst the chaos in Arcane's second season. She aims to seize the vacant seat of power within Zaun and spearhead the city's resistance against Piltover. Renata's corporate empire and access to advanced chemtech weaponry make her an incredibly formidable new player.

3. The Characters Travel To A New Region

Arcane Season 2: Our Top 10 Wishlist for the Next Installment

Following the time skip in season 1, it is revealed that Jayce and Viktor's groundbreaking Hextech revolutionized Piltover, establishing it as a major influential force in Runeterra. The introduction of magical portals further enhanced Piltover's wealth by facilitating trade with other regions. Unfortunately, the series "Arcane" fails to take full advantage of this expansive world, which could be rectified in season 2.

While it is expected that the impending civil war in Piltover and Zaun will dominate the second season, it may become overwhelming if prolonged throughout the entire season. A brief storyline exploring a different region of Runeterra, with characters such as Vi, Caitlyn, Jinx, or Ekko being involuntarily or willingly transported through the portals, would serve as a refreshing break from the intensity of the war. Whether it be the arid deserts of Shurima or the frigid shores of the Freljord, there are numerous intriguing locations in Runeterra that could be explored, even if only for a short period of time.

2. Civil War Attracts The Attention Of Noxus

Arcane Season 2: Our Top 10 Wishlist for the Next Installment

In Arcane, Noxus receives significant development beyond Piltover and Zaun. The nation is represented by Mel's mother, warlord Ambessa, who visits the city. Noxus is known to be at war during the events of Arcane, but Mel's possible death could potentially shift their focus. Her mother may view her death as an act of war, leading Noxus to mobilize its armies towards the two cities. Noxus, being a war-driven empire, always seizes the opportunity to engage in conflicts that grant them more influence. The involvement of Noxian forces could introduce key characters like the renowned general, Darius, a prominent figure in League of Legends.

1. Claggor And Mylo Reappear To Haunt Jinx

Arcane Season 2: Our Top 10 Wishlist for the Next Installment

Childhood friends Claggor and Mylo, along with Jinx and Vi, often found themselves in trouble due to their combined skills. Sadly, Jinx accidentally caused their deaths at the beginning of the series. As the story unfolds, Claggor and Mylo are repeatedly depicted through Jinx's guilt-ridden conscience. Jinx claims to hear them speak, and her artistic abilities and visual hallucinations bring forth their faces. Despite this, we never witness their actual presence in flashbacks.

Though their role in the series was short-lived and tragic, Claggor and Mylo were compelling characters who deserved more screen time. Roger Craig Smith and Yuri Lownethall deliver outstanding performances that, unfortunately, are too fleeting. As Jinx's mental state continues to deteriorate in the following season, it is hoped that Claggor and Mylo will appear once again, either through flashbacks or as fully manifested figures within her clouded psyche. While it is thrilling to see familiar champions from the game make an appearance, Arcane introduces new characters of their own who should also be given more prominence.
