Arrowhead Game Studios CEO and creative director Johnan Pilestedt unveiled exciting details about the highly anticipated shooter Helldivers 2 during Sony's State of Play event. The latest video showcased a comprehensive demonstration of the game's features and also confirmed a release date of February 8, 2024.
The presentation began with a captivating scene of a player navigating the "Galactic War" menu, allowing them to choose their desired mission. Once a mission is selected, the player's characters quickly enter their Hellpods, only to find themselves immediately under attack from a horde of menacing bugs. Throughout the trailer, viewers are shown a glimpse of the game's various mechanics, including the ability to respawn, assist teammates with reloading, and effectively utilize heavy weaponry. Building up excitement, the trailer concludes with the exciting announcement that Helldivers 2 will be available for PlayStation 5 and PC on February 8, 2024, with preorders starting on September 22.
Helldivers 2 was revealed earlier this year at the PlayStation Showcase. In contrast to the original 2015 edition, Helldivers 2 will feature a third-person perspective rather than a top-down view. However, the upcoming sequel maintains the exhilarating essence that made Helldivers so enjoyable. Players will continue to navigate treacherous zones teeming with diverse extraterrestrial beings.
