Reality TV star Anna Cardwell, known for her appearance on the TLC show "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," has passed away at the age of 29, according to her family's social media posts. Her sister Alana Thompson and mother June Shannon, also known as Honey Boo Boo and Mama June, shared the news on Sunday, revealing that Cardwell had lost her battle with cancer the previous night.

"On Sunday, Shannon wrote on Instagram, "She put up a remarkable fight for 10 months." Cardwell passed away at 11:12pm the previous night at her mother's Milledgeville, Georgia home, "with her daughters, sisters, husband, and immediate family by her side," as per a statement from Gina Rodriguez, the family's manager and close friend since 2014.

"Unfortunately, Anna passed away on her youngest daughter, Kylees birthday. We humbly request prayers for the family as they navigate through this challenging time, cope with this significant loss, and make necessary arrangements," the statement concluded.

Cardwell was the mother of two daughters, whom she shared with her husband Eldridge Toney.

Thompson recounted how Cardwell had been in significant pain the previous night, but now the family finds solace in knowing that she is finally at peace. "I am at a loss for words as my heart is shattered," Thompson expressed. "Witnessing my 29-year-old sister fight this terrible disease over the past year has been incredibly difficult."

Thompson mentioned that her sister was a fighter, and still continues to be one. Cardwell never officially announced her cancer diagnosis but openly shared her ongoing battle on Instagram and TikTok this year.

In July, Shannon revealed to Entertainment Tonight that she was "doing well," but admitted that Cardwell's stage 4 cancer was "aggressive."

"We are aware that it is terminal, but when people inquire... I always say, take it one day at a time because you never know," Shannon stated.

In November, Cardwell updated her TikTok followers, sharing that she was feeling "pretty good" after completing radiation treatment and autoimmune therapy. She rose to fame as a cast member on the TLC reality show "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" from 2012 to 2014. The show, a spinoff of "Toddlers and Tiaras" featuring Thompson, offered a glimpse into the family's daily lives.

The reality show "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" was discontinued by TLC in 2014, but the family members continued to work on other reality projects. This included a WE tv series focused on Shannon. Thompson expressed her love for Anna on Sunday with the message, "We will always love you, Anna."
