Amy Roloff’s first declaration of love to her husband Chris Marek was even more special than one could imagine. In a recent interview, Amy, 61, shared that she may have initially expressed her love through a card or a similar gesture. She jokingly mentioned that writing it down was a safer option compared to saying it out loud.
Chris, 61, and Amy both agreed that she was the one who first said those three little words. Amy couldn't recall the exact moment when she confessed her feelings, but she was certain she expressed it in a special message to Chris.
Amy reflected, "I knew that since Chris had never been married or had kids, someone had to take the first step after dating for a while. I believe that there is never a perfect moment, you just have to choose the best one."
Amy thought Chris was waiting for the right moment to confess his feelings. Chris recalled how Amy had first said "I love you" to him with a card, joking that it was easier for him to process and react to the words.

Amy Roloff always goes above and beyond when it comes to giving cards. My husband gushed about how she always makes sure he receives at least three cards for every occasion, no matter how big or small. And the best part? She always writes something incredibly special and thoughtful in each one.
Amy and Chris got married in August 2021 after being together for five years. The wedding took place at Roloff Farms, where Amy used to live with her ex-husband Matt Roloff. Matt did not attend the wedding. Amy cherished the memories of raising her and Matt's four children at the estate: twins Zach and Jeremy, 33, daughter Molly, 30, and son Jacob, 27.
After their separation in 2015, Amy sold her share of the farm to Matt. Initially, Matt planned to sell the property, but eventually, he decided to turn it into a rental property in 2022. In a February 2024 episode of Little People, Big World, Amy talked about how difficult it was for her to see tenants living in her family's old house.
Amy confessed that she never imagined that the house where she raised her children for the past 30 years would become a short-term rental. She expressed her belief that a family or someone should be living in it. Despite this change, Amy mentioned that Matt owns the house and she does not harbor any ill feelings towards him. She acknowledged that it makes sense for Matt to rent out the house from a business perspective.
