Frictional Games, the developers of Amnesia: The Bunker, have unveiled a Halloween update that intensifies the survival horror gameplay, making it considerably more challenging to survive. This update introduces two new game modes, an enhanced health system, and a host of additional features.
As per the press release, players now have the opportunity to curate their personalized horror experience through the Custom mode, boasting an extensive array of over 30 configurable settings and parameters. Additionally, players can brave the game in Shell Shock Mode, reputed as the most punishing Amnesia encounter to date.
The latest update brings several new features to the game, in addition to the new modes. Among these enhancements are new creature behaviors that make them more unpredictable. A Sublevel Fuse system will now be available, requiring players to restore electricity in specific bunker zones to turn on lights. Furthermore, a Hardcore Health System introduces a new health mechanism where players will lose health when bleeding. Bandages will no longer restore health, but they will stop bleeding. On the other hand, medkits will restore health and also stop bleeding.
Players can expect to find more lockers with their combinations placed randomly throughout the game. To access the Locked Fuel Storage room, players will need to hunt for the combination within the bunker. Additionally, saving progress now consumes fuel. The revolver will no longer be immediately accessible, requiring players to first unlock the storage locker if they wish to arm themselves. Lastly, the safe room is no longer a refuge as it used to be. Finally, a training ground will be available for players to hone their skills.
