Warning: Spoilers ahead for American Horror Story: Delicate episode 5!
Summary
In American Horror Story: Delicate episode 5, it is revealed that there are four women in black, leaving us to wonder who else is collaborating with The Ashleys. Siobhan's suspicious actions and her role in pressuring Anna to make a decision between motherhood and her career hint at her possible affiliation with the women in black.
Dex's connection to the women in black might explain why Anna is being targeted, as it is possible that they are seeking revenge on him through her.
In American Horror Story: Delicate, two additional women in black were introduced, providing clues about the individuals behind these mysterious costumes. Throughout season 12, the first two women in black have been observed following Anna Alcott, portrayed by Emma Roberts, from a distance. The identities of this initial pair were directly confirmed in episode 4, during the Mary Tudor opening scene. The flashback scene revealed that Billie Lour and Leslie Grossman portray the characters in the creepy black costumes in American Horror Story season 12, as they are shown taking Mary's baby away as part of a deal.
The PR team Siobhan hired to help rescue Anna's public image, known as "The Ashleys" (or Ashleigh in Grossman's case), later made an appearance as characters. The women in black, featured in scenes, gave off the impression that they were part of a satanic cult in Hollywood, which is a suspicion shared by Preecher. However, episode 5 of American Horror Story: Delicate revealed that there are actually four women in black. Now, the question remains: who else is working alongside The Ashleys as the women in black?
Why AHS: Delicate's Other 2 Women In Black Could Be Siobhan & Nicolette
At first, Siobhan appeared to be a top-notch publicist, showing equal support for Anna's personal life and career. But in episode 5 of American Horror Story: Delicate, things took a turn. Siobhan's behavior became increasingly suspicious, and her kindness towards Anna diminished compared to the beginning of the season. She even pushed Anna to make a difficult choice between being a mother or pursuing an Oscar. However, the most significant indication of her potential affiliation with the women in black was when rising star Babette Eno won a Golden Globe over Anna, who tragically passed away in a car accident.
At the same time that Anna learned the news, her phone started ringing and Siobhan's name displayed on the screen. If Siobhan took any actions to advance Anna's career, it could potentially be connected to Babette's untimely demise. Additionally, Nicolette had been exhibiting suspicious behavior. In the fifth episode of American Horror Story: Delicate, she displayed a chilly attitude towards Sonia, even hinting that she may be another enigmatic figure dressed in black. Sonia bears a striking resemblance to Dex's former wife, Adeline, and Anna has been suspicious of their uncanny physical similarities ever since they first met. There may be an underlying connection between Nicolette, Adeline, or Sonia and the cult, which could explain her disconcerting reaction to Sonia's presence.
Dex's Connection To The Women In Black Explains Why Anna Is Being Targeted
If Dex is connected to the women in black, it could explain their pursuit of Anna. It is possible that Adeline was initially part of the cult but abandoned it to be with Dex. Consequently, the cult is now targeting Anna to seek revenge on Dex and sabotage his chances of having a family. This could also clarify Nicolette's animosity towards Sonia, as Nicolette may still be involved in the cult and resentful of Adeline's departure. In season 12, Dex's mother has made an appearance with her own connection to a satanic entity, potentially linked to Dex's father's involvement in the cult. Only the upcoming second part of American Horror Story: Delicate, following its hiatus, will reveal the truth.
