A Pokemon fan has created a vase inspired by Jigglypuff, giving it a practical real-world application. Despite the introduction of new pocket monsters in each new generation of Pokemon games, Jigglypuff remains a beloved favorite from the original Gen 1. Known for its simple pink design, Jigglypuff is easily recognizable and has made appearances in various Pokemon games as well as becoming a playable fighter in the Super Smash Bros. series. A fan recently demonstrated their affection for Jigglypuff through a unique and functional piece of fan art.
Taking to Reddit, this Pokemon enthusiast named pokamii showcased their creative Jigglypuff vase. Impressively, the artist managed to accurately recreate the likeness of the Pokemon, resulting in a functional real-life item. In the images shared by pokamii, the charming vase adorned with a collection of exquisite flowers perfectly served its intended purpose. According to the artist, the design for Jigglypuff was inspired by its appearance in the recently released Pokemon Sleep, with the pink puffball appearing to be in a peaceful slumber.
In addition to displaying the vase on Reddit, pokamii also shared a detailed YouTube video demonstrating the process behind their fan art. The approximately eight-minute video provided a step-by-step explanation of how the delightful vase was created. Based on the tutorial, the Pokemon enthusiast began by molding the shape of Jigglypuff using clay. They skillfully crafted the spherical body of the Pokemon and carefully added its defining features, including ears, feet, arms, and even the trademark swirl of fur on top of its head. Once the clay had dried, several coats of a fitting pink paint were applied to the sculpture, followed by meticulous detailing such as the eyelids and mouth.
It should be noted that pokamii has created other fan art besides this. They have displayed their artistic talent by crafting a range of ceramic items, including several clay plates featuring different Pokemon, such as one featuring Jigglypuff. Furthermore, they have previously crafted a fountain in the shape of Slowpoke.
This recent creation of Jigglypuff by pokamii demonstrates the fascination fans have in bringing their favorite Pokemon to life through real-world objects inspired by their designs. With the completion of this Pokemon-themed vase, it is evident that pokamii has no plans to slow down. Only time will reveal which Pokemon they will choose as the focus of their next ceramics project.
