According to the latest franchise announcement, the Russian anime "Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings" is scheduled to debut in April 2024. The news was shared during the Alya Birthday Fest 2023 Special Live Stream, where the opening sequence featured a teaser video in honor of Alya's birthday.
The series will feature Sumire Uesaka as Alisa Mihairovuna Kujo and Kohei Amasaki as Masachika Kuse, reprising their roles from an earlier drama CD. Other members of the cast include Wakana Maruoka as Yuki Suo, Yukiyo Fujii as Marsha, and Saya Aizawa as Ayano Kimishima. It is currently uncertain whether this is the complete cast list or if more members will be announced in the future.
The anime series at Doga Kobo Studios is being directed by Ryota Itoh, who is also responsible for the series scripts. Yuhei Murota is the talented character designer and chief animation director for the series. Serving as the series producer is Ryo Kobayashi.
Additional staff will be announced at a later date. The opening and ending theme songs and artists of the series have not been revealed as of the writing of this article. The original light novel series, published by Kadokawa under its Sneaker Bunko imprint, recently released its seventh volume in Japan on September 1, 2023. Illustrator Saho Tenamachi has also launched a manga adaptation of the series, which is currently serialized on Kodansha's Magazine Pocket app.
