Ali Wong has no bad blood with her estranged husband, Justin Hakuta — and her Golden Globes speech proved it.
"I prefer to maintain a peaceful, grateful, and amicable attitude," Wong, 41, expressed to Entertainment Tonight after winning on Sunday, January 7th.
Wong won the Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television award for her role in Beef. When she was announced as the winner, she kissed her boyfriend Bill Hader before expressing gratitude to Hakuta, also 41, in her acceptance speech.
"I want to express my gratitude to Justin, the father of my children and my closest friend, for your unwavering love and support. It is thanks to you that I am able to juggle the responsibilities of being a working mother."
In April 2022, it was reported that Wong and Hakuta had ended their eight-year marriage. (The couple has two daughters, Mari, 8, and Nikki, 6.)

In December 2023, more than a year later, it was confirmed that Wong had officially filed for divorce from Hakuta. They listed their separation date as April 2022.
Citing irreconcilable differences, she requested joint legal and physical custody of their daughters, as per court documents obtained by Us. The filing mentioned that she and Hakuta are currently in mediation regarding spousal support and division of assets.
In February 2023, speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Wong shared that she was surprised by the widespread news of her divorce, but the most difficult part was her mother's reaction to the news. She had previously mentioned the possibility of divorce to her mother, which upset her deeply. Wong's mother had even asked her to postpone the divorce, essentially asking her to sacrifice her own happiness. Despite understanding her mother's concerns due to her age, Wong found it incredibly challenging to deal with her mother's fears about the shame the divorce would bring.
Following her split, Wong began a relationship with Hader, 45. They were initially connected in late 2022 but soon parted ways. By April 2023, Hader suggested that they had reconciled.
"I realized that I haven't taken a vacation in 10 years while with my girlfriend. We went to San Francisco, but it didn't feel like a real getaway," he shared with Collider, avoiding the disclosure of Wong's identity. "So, I'm planning to go on a proper vacation. I need to absorb new experiences by watching and reading."
