Alex Rodriguez Reveals Exclusive Condition for Daughter Natasha's College Musical Theater Dream

Alex Rodriguez's daughter Natasha is set to embark on her college journey in the coming weeks, as the former baseball star prepares to move her into her new campus residence

Alex Rodriguez is getting his eldest daughter, Natasha, ready for college at the University of Michigan. However, he has made it clear that she must fulfill a certain condition when it comes to her class selection. Rodriguez expressed that his only requirement is for Natasha to take business classes at Michigan, along with pursuing her interest in the university's renowned musical theater program.

Natasha, the daughter of the retired baseball player and his ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis, recently completed high school and has been accepted into Michigan's BFA program for performing arts. At 18 years old, Natasha will be moving to the midwestern campus later this month. Rodriguez expressed his mixed emotions about this milestone, stating that he is proud of Natasha but also saddened by the fact that his firstborn will be leaving. As a father, Rodriguez believes that no matter how old they are, our children will always be our babies.

The MLB icon has already experienced the difference in his home life with Natasha being away at school. During a recent overnight trip, he had a realization while trying to wake up his younger daughter, Ella. Their rooms are located across from each other, and out of habit, he went to knock on Natasha's door, only to remember that she's not there anymore. Rodriguez described this moment as a preview of what the next four years will be like. This prompted him to share more about how Ella is handling her sister's departure, as he is currently in a relationship with fitness trainer Jaclyn "Jac" Cordeiro.

He explained that there are aspects of her that are excited because she now becomes the dominant figure in the household, due to having a younger stepsister named Cami. However, he believes that overall, she is similar to the rest of us: feeling a mixture of sadness and pride that Natasha is going to Michigan.

Natasha is impressing her father, particularly, with her mindset towards pursuing a career in the arts. He expressed that she is completely certain about what she wants and possesses a strong work ethic. She does not expect any handouts and desires to earn everything she achieves. Rodriguez complimented her, stating that she is an exceptional young lady, and her goal is to perform in a significant production such as Hamilton.

She is heading to the perfect destination for training. The University of Michigan boasts an impressive list of successful graduates, such as Darren Criss (known for his role in Glee), Ashley Park (star of Emily in Paris), the talented composers Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (renowned for their work on The Greatest Showman), and the legendary James Earl Jones, just to mention a few.

When Rodriguez isn't enthusiastically supporting his daughters' achievements — and being exhausted by their lively family dinners — he collaborates with OraPharma to raise awareness about gum disease.

Receiving the news during one of my regular visits was a shock, and I was even more surprised and admittedly a little nervous upon realizing the prevalence of the issue in the U.S., particularly within my community," he shared regarding his early-stage diagnosis. "From a distance, it may seem like everything is perfect and nothing can go wrong. However, it is evident that this can happen to anyone."

He further stated, "Personally, I have never been eager to visit the dentist. Nevertheless, I have come to understand that it is imperative and a matter that all of us should treat with greater seriousness."
