Cassie’s husband, Alex Fine, is addressing the recent video of Sean “Diddy” Combs allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend.
“I believe in a world where women and girls feel safe, are respected, and treated equally,” Fine, 31, shared on Instagram on Friday, May 17. “To all the women and children out there, know that you are not alone. If you need support, please call the domestic violence hotline at (800) 799-7233.”
The model shared a heartfelt “letter to women and children” that he had written some time ago. He emphasized that the words in the letter remain relevant not just for today, but for every day.
In the letter, he expressed that “Men who hit women aren’t men. Men who enable and protect abusers are not real men.” He urged men to take a stand against violence towards women by holding their brothers, friends, and family members accountable. It is important for our daughters, sisters, mothers, and wives to feel safe and loved. The model emphasized the importance of treating women with the utmost respect, as men who harm women have a deep hatred towards them.
Fine and Cassie, who is 37 years old, got married in 2019. They have two daughters together, Frankie, who is 4 years old, and Sunny, who is 3 years old.
Before marrying Fine, Cassie had an on and off relationship with Diddy, who is 54 years old, for 11 years. In November 2023, Cassie settled a lawsuit that accused Diddy of sexual assault and abuse. Diddy's lawyer, Ben Brafman, mentioned that the settlement did not mean Diddy was admitting guilt.
Diddy and Cassie’s relationship was thrust into the public eye once again last Friday. This happened when CNN released security footage from 2016. The video reportedly shows the music mogul engaging in aggressive behavior towards his then-girlfriend, grabbing, shoving, dragging, and kicking her.
In response to the released footage, Cassie’s attorney, Douglas H. Wigdor, made a statement to We. He described the video as "gut-wrenching" and highlighted the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs. Wigdor also commended Cassie, now known as Ms. Ventura, for her bravery and strength in coming forward to shed light on the situation.
