Alan Wake 2 Developers Embrace October Competition, Here's Why!

The developers of Alan Wake 2 remain unfazed by the competition in October, confident in the game's length and its ability to stand out among other releases Find out how this highly anticipated title holds its ground amidst fierce rivals

The developers of Alan Wake 2 have recently addressed concerns about the game's release amidst a busy month for content. Remedy Entertainment's team has also shared details about the game's length, the characters Saga Anderson and her partner, and other intriguing tidbits.

Alan Wake 2, developed by Remedy Entertainment, is an upcoming survival horror game that aims to immerse players in the terrifying world created by a disturbed writer in a nightmarish version of New York City. The game features two main characters, the familiar writer Alan Wake and the NY Investigator Saga Anderson, as they embark on their own journeys and uncover the enigmatic secrets of the Dark Place where Alan is trapped.

Some of the developers at Remedy recently discussed Alan Wake 2 and its forthcoming release date of October 17 with Wccftech. They expressed confidence in their ability to compete with other games in the horror genre that will be released in October. This month is expected to offer a wealth of content for fans of horror games. Thomas Puha, Communications Director at Remedy Entertainment, emphasized that their primary concern is creating the best game possible. He stated, "We really only worry about making the best game we can. That's what's ultimately the most important thing." Puha also acknowledged that competition will always exist, but he downplayed its significance.

Puha discussed the characters Saga Anderson and her partner, Alex Casey, revealing that Saga is the same character from Alan Wake's popular action-thriller. He described this revelation as "very meta, with many levels of meta." Additionally, Puha mentioned that it would take roughly 20 hours to complete Alan Wake 2, depending on the player's skills, due to the dual nature of the story and the switching between protagonists.

On a technical note, Puha mentioned the connection between Alan Wake 2 and Remedy's overall connected universe. While he didn't comment on whether characters from Control would appear in the game, he did hint at deep connections and hidden elements between Alan Wake 2 and Control within the main story and investigations.

Alan Wake 2 is due for release on October 17 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
