Adele recently informed her fans that her temporary break from alcohol during her Las Vegas residency has come to an end. The 35-year-old singer, known for her hit song "Someone Like You," disclosed her holiday plans prior to resuming her shows in January 2024.
"I'm simply going to relax. It's frustrating that I'm sick once again, especially since this weather calls for red wine," Adele shared with the audience at The Colosseum Caesar Palace on Wednesday, November 8, according to Daily Mail. "I had stopped drinking, but now I feel prepared to indulge once more because it's my break."
Furthermore, she disclosed that she had to eliminate her beloved wine from her routine while performing at the residency, as it negatively affects her voice.
"I am unable to consume red wine while singing because, personally, it has a detrimental effect on me. It gives me an extreme hangover and impairs my vocal abilities," Adele revealed. She now opts for a mixture of sparkling water, white wine, and ice. Additionally, Adele mentioned her intention to indulge in a luxurious bottle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape wine, which she has carefully saved for a noteworthy event, once she feels better.

At one of her recent shows, the Grammy winner made a surprising admission - she has stopped drinking. Adele came to this decision after recognizing that her relationship with alcohol in her 20s was unhealthy. In a clip shared by a concertgoer, Adele revealed to her audience in Las Vegas that she stopped drinking about three and a half months ago.
Adele quipped about the monotony of not drinking anymore, stating that she was essentially on the brink of alcoholism for a significant part of her twenties. However, she expressed her yearning for those days. Additionally, the "Easy On Me" singer revealed that she has also eliminated caffeine from her lifestyle.

Adele revealed that her battle with substance abuse began after the loss of her estranged father, Mark Evans, in May 2021. Evans had fought with alcohol addiction throughout his life and eventually succumbed to bowel cancer. In an interview with Vogue in October 2021, Adele shared her curiosity about alcohol, stating that it was the factor that kept her father away from her and sparked her interest in it.
In 2018, following her divorce from Simon Konecki, she acknowledged turning to alcohol. In her November 2021 CBS Adele One Night Only concert, she playfully remarked, "Initially, I was probably single-handedly keeping the alcohol industry afloat. However, when I recognized the need for self-improvement, I quit drinking and focused on exercising and finding balance."
