Soap opera actor Brian Gaskill recently spoke out after his character, Seth Morgan, was written off The Young and the Restless.

In a heartfelt statement shared on Instagram on Tuesday, March 5, the 54-year-old Gaskill thanked the cast and crew for their support and looked ahead to what the future may hold.

News spreads quickly these days thanks to social media and the Internet. So, yeah, that thing happened," he said. If you haven't seen it yet, be sure to watch... I heard that the Los Angeles episode might be replaced, so you can check out Paramount+ or look for Times.

Gaskill's time on the show was short, starting in January and ending with his final appearance on the episode that aired on Tuesday, March 5. He played the character Seth, who was Nikki's AA sponsor (Melody Thomas Scott). Unfortunately, his character met a tragic end when Jordan (Colleen Zenk) pushed him in front of a moving car.

Gaskill mentioned that he enjoyed his time on Young and the Restless, working with producers, directors, the publicity department, and fellow actors. He also expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from friends on social media who have followed his journey over the years.

Having been part of various daytime TV shows in the past, Gaskill is familiar with the cycle of joining and leaving. He has previously appeared on All My Children, Port Charles, The Bold and the Beautiful, As the World Turns, and Guiding Light.

It had been over a decade since his last soap role in 2008. Gaskill shared with Soap Opera Digest that coming back to the soap world was truly amazing.

In an interview from January, he mentioned, "I wasn't sure if I would ever return to daytime TV. There are only four shows left, and the job opportunities are not as abundant. My life has been quite a journey."

After his daytime job ended during the Great Recession, Gaskill struggled to find consistent work and support his daughter. At one point, he even had to live in his car due to financial difficulties.

Desperate to make ends meet, he took on various odd jobs to earn money. From selling cars to working as an Uber driver in Los Angeles for a few years, Gaskill did whatever he could. However, the physical toll of driving for long hours took a toll on his body and his car.

Eventually, he decided to pursue a career in massage therapy and went back to school. For the past few years, Gaskill has been working as a massage therapist. Reflecting on his journey, he feels like he has experienced five different lifetimes.

Gaskill wrapped up his Instagram post by saying, "Now let's wait and see what happens next..."

If his next venture is in soap operas, Days of Our Lives and General Hospital are the only remaining shows on his checklist.
