How to Complete A High Price to Pay in Starfield
The Starfield A High Price to Pay mission occurs shortly after No Sudden Moves. Beyond this point, the Constellation group will divide into two distinct factions: one residing in The Lodge and the other in The Eye.Groupings in A High Price to Pay
Here's a quick summary:Vladimir Sall and three Constellation companions will be aboard The Eye.
Walter, Noel, Matteo, Vasco, and a companion from the Constellation will be present in The Lodge.
The precise rationale behind the positioning of your full-fledged companions remains unknown. However, it is plausible that their affinity plays a role; for instance, the companion with the strongest affinity will join the group in The Eye, while the one with the second highest affinity will be placed in The Lodge.
You are faced with a crucial choice.
What happens if you defend The Lodge
Should you opt to defend The Lodge in Starfield's A High Price to Pay quest, your first task is to check on Walter on the second floor. However, your peaceful moment is abruptly interrupted by the sudden appearance of the Hunter, a formidable Starborn warrior. Here is what awaits you next:Keep shooting the Hunter briefly to allow the rest of the group to safely navigate through the sewer passageway located in the basement. Remain cautious of the Hunter's abilities, including the ability to summon a clone of himself.
Next, head towards the sewers, which will ultimately lead you to The Well. Remember, the Hunter will still be pursuing you, so prioritize making a swift escape.
Upon exiting The Well, you have to continue all the way to the Spaceport, where you'll be able to take off on your ship.
Dock with The Eye and see what just happened.
Regrettably, your failure to reach The Eye in a timely manner resulted in the unfortunate demise of one of your fellow adventurers. In my own experience, it was Sarah who perished.
It is our belief that Sarah's strong connection with the group may have been a contributing factor, although we cannot definitively confirm this. Perhaps in your own playthrough, the outcome will vary.
Sarah perished while aboard The Eye during one of our campaigns.
What happens if you go to The Eye
When undertaking Starfield's A High Price to Pay quest and opting to venture into The Eye, it is crucial to act swiftly as only a narrow timeframe is available. You must vacate The Lodge prior to the Hunter's assault on Walter, otherwise, the door will become inaccessible. Here is what unfolds next:The companion designated to meet their demise in The Eye suffers severe injuries, yet remains able to engage in conversation. They will eventually make a full recovery.
You still need to return to The Lodge. There, you'll see that the lone full-fledged companion is dead.In Mark's campaign, it was Sam that died in The Lodge.
In my campaign, it was Andreja.
We compared our observations and discovered that our companions shared a strong bond, ranking second in affinity.
Sarah managed to survive the ordeal, thanks to our decision to venture into The Eye. However, your task is not yet complete as you still need to proceed to the sewers in order to locate Noel. Once you reach her, the Hunter will unexpectedly make an appearance.
The pursuit of the Starborn persists, necessitating your passage through The Well and the Spaceport in order to reach your ship. Once there, everyone will convene in The Eye, where you must strategize your next course of action.
Regrettably, Andreja met her demise in The Lodge. The incidents have shattered the Constellation, leaving the survivors to piece it back together. Our guides delve into the Armillary's subsequent events and explore the potential for saving your companion.
