A fire broke out at the Tiffany & Co. flagship store in New York City on Thursday, June 29. The fire was reported around 9 a.m. ET, and firefighters promptly arrived at the scene on 5th Avenue, according to the Associated Press. The FDNY officials determined that the smoke resulted from an underground electrical fire, as reported by CBS News. Authorities successfully extinguished the fire by noon.
According to Deputy Fire Chief Joseph Carlsen, the fire was contained to the store's basement and only two individuals sustained minor injuries, as reported by AP. Numerous bystanders posted videos on Twitter, depicting smoke emanating from the lower part of the structure.
The sudden emergency occurs after the reopening of Tiffany & Co.'s location, The Landmark, with a star-studded soirée earlier this year. On April 27, the iconic retailer unveiled an enchanting new version of its beloved shop.
