The end of the journey was not surprising for someone as respected as him. It was only natural for tears to flow for a man who brought hope and success to Liverpool Football Club during his nearly nine-year tenure.
On a sunny Sunday at Anfield, Jurgen Klopp bid farewell to managing Liverpool. Tears welled up in the eyes of everyone present - from Klopp himself to his players and fans.
Klopp revealed earlier this year that he will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season. He mentioned that it was the right time for him to move on. Meanwhile, Liverpool fans have been slowly coming to terms with the news and getting ready for his departure.

The team bus was greeted by thousands of fans lining the streets on its way to Anfield. Flares filled the air with Liverpool red, creating a vibrant atmosphere. One stand featured a mural of the German’s name, while fans waved “normal one” flags, a nod to his self-description at his first press conference as Liverpool manager.
Klopp expressed his gratitude for the adoration from the fans before the match, calling it “really difficult to take as a human being.” Little did he know, more surprises were in store for him.
Liverpool won 2-0 against Wolves in a match where the fans serenaded the team throughout. The focus, however, was not just on the results. In the final 10 minutes, the fans' chants and adoration reached such a level that Klopp couldn't help but shed tears. The cameras even captured his wife, Ulla, also emotional in the stands.
It's tempting to list the trophies Liverpool has claimed since Klopp took over in October 2015 – including the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and more. However, Klopp's impact on the club goes beyond just the silverware won.
The stadium announcer praised Klopp for his significant influence on the city and its residents as he stepped onto the pitch for his post-match presentation.
Despite winning many trophies, some believe there should have been more. Klopp's teams have come close, with two lost Champions League finals, a lost Europa League final, and missing out on the Premier League title by a single point on two occasions.
For Liverpool’s fans, Jurgen Klopp brought happiness to the club by turning a mid-table team into a top contender in European soccer. He built one of the best teams in the club’s history, winning trophies and playing exciting football. In 2020, he ended the club's 30-year wait for a league title.

Klopp embraced his players, and even some from the opposing team, at the end of the game. Captain Virgil van Dijk appeared emotional and close to tears during their hug. "I'm lost for words, it's a very emotional day," Van Dijk shared with us.
When he first arrived, Klopp claimed to be "the normal one," but in reality, he is anything but.
"He's truly a special coach," goalkeeper Allison shared with We later on. "I feel so fortunate and appreciative to have had the chance to learn from Jurgen Klopp."
The matchday programme featured the words "Danke Jurgen" on the cover. What more could Liverpool fans say? In his programme notes, Klopp expressed, "...as much as I understand it's the right moment for me to move on, I also know it will take some time to adjust."
It may take some time for Liverpool fans, as well as the Premier League as a whole, to adjust to life after Klopp. Even after the game ended, the stadium was still packed with fans who wanted to hear Klopp's farewell speech.

The club's anthem "You'll Never Walk Alone" filled the stadium for the last time for the German. Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has only played under one manager, couldn't hold back his tears. Everyone hesitated to leave as it signaled the end.
Klopp reflected on the season, stating, "We aimed for the moon this season but ended up among the stars." Despite hoping for four trophies, they settled for the League Cup and a third-place finish in the league.
There will never be another manager like Klopp. Not many managers have the opportunity to decide when to leave in a sport as demanding as football.
Liverpool fans understand that the Klopp era is unique and cannot be recreated. That is why they gave him a special farewell.
