8 Power Universe Characters Who Could Carry Their Own Spinoffs

8 Power Universe Characters Who Could Carry Their Own Spinoffs

The Power Universe has a complex web of interconnecting stories and spin-offs, making many characters fair game to have their own show if they are compelling enough. Plenty of characters have already crossed between different series, shedding light on their character motivations and development. To warrant having a spin-off, a character must bring a new outlook to the franchise and have their own set of complex relationships to introduce new voices to the story. Backstories, origin stories, and sequels are all on the table for any character involved in the Power universe.

Enrique Murciano As Felipe Lobos

In the events of Power, Felipe is killed, but as he is such a fantastic villain, it's easy to want much more of him. Even after he is gone, his specter haunts those who knew him in the direct sequel, Power Book II: Ghost. He's a drug trafficker for a cartel in Mexico, but the series provides little information as to what his life looked like before he got mixed up with Ghost (Omari Hardwick) and Kanan (50 Cent). Learning what his childhood looked like and getting a different perspective on the drug trade would open up the world, and Felipe would shine as a protagonist.

London Brown As Marvin Thomas

Marvin is Kanan's (Mekai Curtis) uncle and a large part of what makes Kanan into the man he becomes in Power. Years before the events of Power, Marvin is introduced as part of Kanan's life growing up in Queens in Power Book III: Raising Kanan. He is not painted as the most intellectual man in the series and is often sent off to do whatever tasks his sister Raq (Patina Miller) requires to keep the competition at bay. He and his daughter LaVerne 'Jukebox' (Hailey Kilgore) have a complicated relationship and seeing what else happens between them after Raising Kanan and before Power would be a compelling story.

Lili Simmons As Claudia Flynn

Power Book IV: Force follows Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora), one of the antagonists in Power, but one of his antagonists in Force is Claudia Flynn. She is the daughter of Walter Flynn (Tommy Flanagan) and knows what it's like to be the only woman in the room. Both ruthless and out only for herself, she isn't easily made into an ally. At the end of season 2, it appeared she may have been killed, but nothing was officially confirmed. Either way, her life growing up as Walter Flynn's daughter in Chicago would make for another interesting angle for the Power universe.

Lucien Cambric As Darnell 'D-Mac' McDowell

Also part of the Force series, D-Mac is Tommy's nephew and is learning how to handle himself through Tommy's example. He has a difficult relationship with his father, JP Gibbs (Anthony Fleming) who he believes abandoned him. What D-Mac wants more than anything is to be wanted by a family that loves him. After facing harsh treatment on the streets of Chicago, he deserves this, and while Tommy might become Ghost's replacement in Force, he's still family. D-Mac is always an amazing part of an episode in Force and would do well with a story dedicated to him.
