We are already anticipating the new episodes of Season 3 of The Bear, despite filming not yet underway. The popular Hulu series premiered in June 2022 and followed the story of The Beef restaurant, now under the management of Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) after the passing of his older brother, Mikey (Jon Bernthal).
In Season 1, Carmy worked to support the sandwich shop and cope with his grief. This led to Season 2, where Carmy, Sydney, and other employees worked on opening The Bear restaurant. The finale appeared to be successful, but the season ended with significant challenges for the characters to overcome in Season 3 as The Bear faced unexpected challenges.
The cast has been mostly quiet about season 3, but White suggested that fans can anticipate a return to a more active kitchen atmosphere. Speaking to Variety in December 2023, he mentioned that season 2 focused more on building the restaurant and less on cooking, but season 3 is likely to bring back the bustling kitchen environment from the first season. Stay tuned for more updates on what fans are hoping to see in season 3 of Us.
1. Carmy and Sydney Finally Start Dating
Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Ebebiri, photographed by Chuck Hodes for FX. This pairing is undeniably at the forefront of our minds. While not every fan may be on board with the idea of Carmy and Sydney as a potential couple, the undeniable chemistry between White and Edebiri is evident in every scene they share.
Carmy and Sydney are both juggling busy personal and professional lives, leading them to believe they are not yet ready for a relationship. However, with careful execution, they could smoothly transition from partners and best friends to something more. Their strong connection and deep understanding of each other already drive the entire show, making it inevitable that they should ultimately end up together.
2. Luca Pays a Visit to Chicago — and His Bromance With Marcus Continues
Additionally, it becomes quite clear following Carmy’s unsuccessful romance with Claire (Molly Gordon) in season 2 that the best match is often the person who is already a part of your life. Apologies, Claire!

It wouldn't be fair to only give us one episode with Will Poulter playing a dessert chef. Besides, Poulter effectively stole every scene he was in, and his character Luca's friendship with Marcus was truly heartwarming. Season 2 hinted that Marcus will be dealing with his mother's passing, so it would only make sense to give him another person in his corner.
3. Carmy and Natalie Work on Repairing Their Relationship With Their Mother
It also doesn’t hurt that Poulter is such a big fan of The Bear. “I called them. I literally begged to be in the show,” Poulter told Variety in July 2023. “I asked if I could meet with [the show’s creator] Chris Storer and basically communicated that I was such a fan of so much of his work, but especially The Bear.”

Jamie Lee Curtis brings an undeniable depth to the character of Donna that leaves audiences wanting more. Despite the challenges her children faced in season 2, it's clear that Curtis wouldn't take on such a pivotal role if Donna wasn't set to return. Donna's unwavering support for Carmy and Natalie, even though she couldn't enter the restaurant, showcases her desire to be there for her kids.
4. Another ‘Fishes’ Episode With Plenty of Guest Stars
Chuck Hodes/FX
The Bear fans were blown away by the incredibly tense "Review" from season 1, but "Fishes" took the excitement to a whole new level. The extended episode featured a star-studded lineup and a Christmas theme, adding to the building tension within the Berzatto family that ultimately exploded into a massive fight culminating in a car crashing through the dining room.
It seems hard to believe that The Bear could outdo that, but the Hulu show is always up for a challenge. Fans are eagerly awaiting another unexpected episode with beloved actors and deeper insight into the Berzatto family's history.
5. More Flashback Sequences That Feature Mikey
Chuck Hodes/FX
The Bear delves into the consequences of Mikey's decision to end his own life. By humanizing him, the audience can better empathize with Carmy, Natalie, and Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they explore the lasting impact of their personal connections with Mikey and his struggles with addiction.

6. The Bear’s Staff Spending Time Together Outside of the Kitchen
The initial season focused on the escalating tensions among The Beef coworkers, resulting in frequent arguments and challenges in finding common ground. In contrast, the following season showcased a more harmonious and cooperative group, committed to collaborating and creating something innovative.
While opening The Bear may address some problems, it will likely bring about new issues as everyone strives to manage their responsibilities and build a loyal customer base. Hopefully, the show can also find moments amidst the chaos to showcase more family dinners and heartwarming friendship moments for us.
