5 Secrets Revealed: How Twitch Viewers Saved Streamer from Crushing Hospital Debt

Touched by an overwhelming act of kindness, a Twitch streamer is moved to tears as his loyal viewers unite to alleviate his staggering hospital debt during a heartfelt live broadcast

Twitch streamer Stoopzz was overwhelmed by his massive hospital bill, but his viewers came to his rescue by donating and paying off the expenses.

After sustaining a fractured hip in Mexico, Stoopzz was burdened with a hospital invoice surpassing $60,000. He expresses his gratitude to his supporters and aims to recommence his usual live broadcasts once he has fully recuperated.

Twitch streamer Oliver "Stoopzz" Sabahi became emotional during a livestream on August 1 when his viewers joined forces to cover his substantial hospital bill.

Since starting his streaming journey in July 2017, Stoopzz has amassed an impressive following of over 175,000 Twitch followers through his broadcasts of World of Warcraft, which he later transitioned to streaming Black Desert Online. Although this level of success sets him apart from most aspiring content creators, streaming Black Desert Online hasn't yet proven to be a highly lucrative career for Stoopzz. According to TwitchTracker, he currently ranks as the 4201st most popular streamer on the platform based on his follower count. A 2023 survey conducted by StreamScheme revealed that the top 1,000 and 10,000 Twitch streamers earn a minimum of $7,063 and $904 per month, respectively.

With Stoopzz presumably falling somewhere in the middle of the income spectrum, he was understandably shocked when he received a hospital bill exceeding $60,000 after fracturing his hip during a trip to Mexico in late July. Despite the potential for overwhelming debt due to the emergency surgery he needed, his Twitch followers came to his aid by generously gifting him numerous paid subscriptions and donations, promptly helping him cover his medical expenses. "Thank you guys so much," the streamer tearfully expressed during his latest broadcast, while wiping away his tears.

Stoopzz, who suffered a serious hip fracture in three places, undoubtedly has a challenging journey to recovery ahead. It is uncertain whether his broadcast schedule will be affected by his physical therapy, but Stoopzz himself expressed his eagerness to resume regular Black Desert Online streams at the earliest opportunity. Unfortunately, his broadcasting was halted for a total of 12 days due to his accident in Mexico.

Not all online entertainers have as devoted and compassionate followers as Stoopzz does. This fact was recently exemplified by General Sam, a renowned Twitch streamer who had the unfortunate experience of receiving a dead pig through the mail.

Stoopzz is not the sole prominent content creator who experienced health problems in recent months. On July 30, well-known YouTuber IShowSpeed found themselves in a Tokyo hospital. Likewise, Twitch celebrity Kaitlyn "Amouranth" Siragusa disclosed in June that she is dealing with late-stage ovarian failure, shortly after Valorant streamer Kyedae shared her cancer diagnosis.
