However, if you hold a contrasting view and genuinely enjoyed the video game adaptation, we have compiled a list of five films that you might appreciate if you are a fan of Five Nights at Freddy's.

5 films to watch if you love Five Nights at Freddy’s

Here is the official synopsis for Five Nights at Freddy’s: “The story revolves around a security guard who is facing personal challenges and starts his employment at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. As he embarks on his first night shift, he quickly realizes the difficulties he will encounter while trying to survive at Freddy’s.”

Westworld (1973)

Plus, we have selected movies featuring adorable yet deadly animatronics, in order to capture the essence of that exhilarating night shift experience. Additionally, our film choices encompass thrilling tales of homicidal androids, menacing robots, and treacherous theme park attractions...

Before Michael Crichton penned Jurassic Park, his novel released in 1990 which depicted deadly encounters with attractions at a resort, he directed the 1973 movie Westworld. This film centered on life-like robots at a resort causing harm to the visitors. While Jurassic Park featured dinosaurs, Westworld revolved around these advanced robots.

Chopping Mall (1986)

The amusement park, set in the near future, is divided into three distinct zones: Roman World, Medieval World, and Western World. In Western World, Yul Brynner portrays a cowboy who goes on a killing spree after experiencing a malfunction. This film later gave rise to a 1976 sequel named Futureworld and a star-studded HBO series in 2016.

While Westworld depicted the havoc caused by malfunctioning androids in a vacation destination, Chopping Mall presents a scenario where robots unleash even greater destruction in much more familiar surroundings. These security machines, resembling a fusion of Daleks and Cylons, boast complete mobility, user-friendliness, and impeccable reliability.

Child’s Play (1988)

The machines going rogue is not completely accurate. However, this leads to a gripping story of humans versus machines, as amorous teenagers engage in a fierce struggle against these 'Killbots.' It's worth noting that the film was originally titled as such.

A young boy is given a ‘Good Guy’ doll called Chucky for his birthday, little realizing it contains the consciousness of a serial killer called Charles Lee Ray.

The Banana Splits Movie (2019)

That serves as the premise of the initial installment of the Child's Play franchise, and the result is witnessing the diminutive Chucky mercilessly slay individuals three times his size, all the while employing profanity and laughing maniacally. Subsequent films were produced, with the standout being the exceptional Bride of Chucky. Furthermore, a captivating television series is currently airing its third season.

The Banana Splits series, a Hanna-Barbera variety show, catered to young audiences and featured a rock band comprising adorable characters Fleegle, Bingo, Drooper, and Snorky. Originally airing on NBC from 1968 to 1970 as a Saturday morning program, the show continued to be syndicated thereafter.

The Banana Splits movie takes a horrifying turn, specifically targeting adults, as the characters discover the shocking news of their show's cancellation during a live taping. Consequently, they embark on an increasingly savage spree, mercilessly slaughtering members of the audience.

Willy’s Wonderland (2021)

Out of the four films mentioned above, all of them bear similarities to Five Nights at Freddy’s. However, Willy’s Wonderland is the one that closely resembles the game/film. This can be attributed to its synopsis which states: “Finding himself stranded in a distant town with a malfunctioning car and no means to pay the local repair shop, The Janitor reluctantly agrees to spend the night in an abandoned amusement park inhabited by animatronic characters that were once beloved by the town's children. Little did he know, these seemingly cheerful mascots now harbor a sinister secret. As darkness descends, these formerly joyful figures awaken and embark on a merciless rampage.”

Willy's stands out from Freddy's due to the portrayal of the Janitor by Nicolas Cage. With Cage being considered one of the most intriguing actors of his time, watching him battle the murderous animatronics is guaranteed to make this imitation film incredibly entertaining.
