'16 and Pregnant' star Sean Garinger tragically passed away at the age of 20 on February 28 as a result of an ATV accident. The reality TV alum's untimely death has left fans mourning the loss of a young talent.
Sean Garinger, who appeared on 16 and Pregnant, passed away at the age of 20 due to an ATV accident.
He was the father of two children, Dareli, 3, and Esmi, 12 months, with Selena Gutierrez. Sean's mother, Mary Hobbs, shared the sad news with The Sun, stating that he tragically lost his life on Wednesday, February 28, in Boone, North Carolina.
Hobbs shared with the publication that she was with him during the ATV accident that led to his death, which crushed his skull.
"He was simply moving the ATV from one parking spot to another for me so I could park in reverse," she explained to The Sun. "As he was parking the ATV in front of me, the ground collapsed due to heavy rain and mud."
Hobbs recounted the ATV flipping and landing on top of her son.
She shared, "I hurried to the neighbors, hoping someone could assist in lifting the ATV off of him. Unfortunately, no one responded. I rushed back to him and sadly came to the realization that he had passed away."
She waited next to him for an ambulance.
Garinger and Gutierrez, 20, were featured together on season 6B of 16 and Pregnant in March 2021. Despite living in different states, they had an on-and-off relationship.

Hobbs mentioned to The Sun that she and Garinger had visited the car dealership before he passed away. She shared that he was looking to purchase a vehicle for a trip to Colorado to visit his daughters. Unfortunately, they did not return to the dealership as planned.
The Watauga County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Garinger’s passing to a local news outlet on Friday, March 1st.
The Sheriff’s Office expressed their condolences for the family and friends of the victim. They confirmed that Garinger was trying to move an ATV when it accidentally went down a steep hill, causing him to be thrown from the vehicle.
Hobbs, the mother of the late son, shared her deep grief over the loss. She described her son as her only child, her source of strength and support. They enjoyed spontaneous road trips, beach outings, bonding over music, fast cars, shooting guns, and embarking on new adventures together.
She expressed, "Sean brought so much light into my life like no one else could. He was my beloved son, my little one, my everything."
As per his obituary, Garinger is remembered by his sisters Shania, Lydia, Isabella, Ember, Kayden, and Casslyn, as well as his mother and daughters.
