Police officers responded to a shooting just after 4:30 p.m., at a time when holiday shoppers were making last-minute purchases during the second-busiest shopping weekend of the year, after Black Friday. This incident in Colorado occurred one day after a shooting at a mall in Ocala, Florida, marking a troubling trend of gun violence during routine activities in the US. One person was killed and another injured in the Florida incident. In Colorado, one man was found dead in the mall and two others were hospitalized in serious condition with gunshot wounds. These events highlight the prevalence of gun violence in everyday American life.

A woman with minor injuries was also transported to the hospital, as reported by the police.

The police department announced that the mall has been both "cleared and closed" and stated, "There is currently no known threat to the community."

Several people have been detained, police said.
